New EU Legislation: Extended Producer Responsibility 

The fashion and textile industry in Europe is undergoing significant change, and OECON GROUP, through its participation in the European project SiT – Sustainability in TCLF, is at the forefront of adapting to this new regulatory landscape. 

In 2025, the EU reached a provisional agreement introducing mandatory Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for the textile sector! 

🔁 Producers will fund the collection, sorting, and recycling of their products. 

Fees will be eco-designed: the greener the product, the lower the fees, encouraging sustainable design. 

📅 Implementation is expected within the next 30 months, with a review scheduled for 2029. 

🎯 2030 Goal: Durable, repairable, and recyclable textiles for a greener, circular economy!
