{"id":23287,"date":"2026-09-25T12:25:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T12:25:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oecon.gr\/?p=23287"},"modified":"2026-09-25T12:25:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T12:25:57","slug":"developing-the-empower-media-literacy-competence-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oecon.gr\/en\/developing-the-empower-media-literacy-competence-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"Developing the EMPOWER Media Literacy Competence Framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>OECON, together with the EMPOWER partnership, is currently working on the development of the <strong>EMPOWER Media Literacy Competence Framework<\/strong>, an important step towards strengthening citizens\u2019 capacity to navigate today\u2019s complex digital and media environment.<\/h3>\n<p>Drawing on national research, stakeholder consultation, comparative analysis, and the review of relevant European and international frameworks, the Competence Framework translates identified needs and emerging challenges into a structured model for media literacy competence development.<\/p>\n<p>The Framework brings together <strong>seven interconnected competence domains<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical Information Literacy<\/li>\n<li>Visual &amp; Multimodal Literacy<\/li>\n<li>Digital Safety &amp; Security<\/li>\n<li>AI Literacy<\/li>\n<li>Platform &amp; Algorithm Literacy<\/li>\n<li>Responsible Digital Participation<\/li>\n<li>Media Resilience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For each domain, the Framework defines relevant <strong>knowledge, skills, attitudes, observable indicators and proficiency levels<\/strong>, creating a practical foundation for educational activities, assessment and personalised learning.<\/p>\n<p>The Framework will also provide the pedagogical basis for the <strong>EMPOWER Digital Evaluation &amp; Self-Assessment Tool<\/strong>, helping users identify their strengths, recognise areas for further development and access learning opportunities tailored to their needs.<\/p>\n<p>Through this work, EMPOWER aims to contribute to more <strong>critical, safe, responsible and resilient participation in contemporary media and digital environments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OECON, together with the EMPOWER partnership, is currently working on [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":23288,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[77],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-23287","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-chrisima-nea-en"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v14.4.1 -
