New EU Legislation: Extended Producer Responsibility<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The fashion and textile industry in Europe is undergoing significant change, and <\/span>OECON GROUP<\/span><\/b>, through its participation in the European project <\/span>SiT \u2013 Sustainability in TCLF<\/span><\/b><\/a>, is at the forefront of adapting to this new regulatory landscape.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2025, the EU reached a provisional agreement introducing <\/span>mandatory Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)<\/span><\/b> for the textile sector!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Producers will fund the collection, sorting, and recycling of their products.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fees will be eco-designed: the greener the product, the lower the fees, encouraging sustainable design.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcc5 Implementation is expected within the next 30 months, with a review scheduled for 2029.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2030 Goal:<\/span><\/b> Durable, repairable, and recyclable textiles for a greener, circular economy!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
