The ELIA project (Excellence and Learning for the Innovation of Agriculture) proposes the establishment of a transnational Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) dedicated to the olive production sector\u2014one of Europe\u2019s most traditional yet increasingly vulnerable agri-food industries. Implemented across seven countries (Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, and Turkey), ELIA addresses urgent challenges related to climate change, digital transformation, skills mismatches, and the social exclusion of rural areas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Based on extensive needs analyses conducted by the partners and fully aligned with the European Green Deal, the Digital Education Action Plan, and the Council Recommendations on Vocational Education and Training (VET) and micro-credentials, ELIA aims to transform vocational education and training into a flexible, inclusive, and innovation-driven system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The project will co-create modular curricula and micro-credentials aligned with European standards, develop training programs that emphasize digital and green skills for both learners and trainers, and pilot structured mobility schemes and work-based learning opportunities in cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), cooperatives, and policy-makers.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Through deep and sustained collaboration among VET providers, businesses, and public authorities, ELIA will enhance regional innovation capacity, support policies for skills recognition, and develop scalable models of excellence that directly contribute to green growth and social resilience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The project\u2019s ultimate goal is to deliver high-quality education and training closely aligned with labour market needs, empowering citizens, revitalising rural economies, and promoting the systemic transformation of vocational education and training across Europe.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
